A question I often receive from students is “What’s my range” or “What is my vocal type or classification? Am I a Soprano, Alto, Baritone, Tenor…?” These two things however, are not the same. Range is one factor that helps determine your vocal classification, but there are several other factors as well. Another, related question I get is “How can I expand my range?”. This video discusses what is vocal range and how to find yours. It also discusses the factors that determine your vocal classification or “Voice type”.
